ProFounder was created to ensure all entrepreneurs have access to the resources they need through the engagement of robust, supportive communities.
Traditional funding sources can be expensive, difficult to access, or not a great fit for many start-ups and small enterprises. Instead, we believe that communities can be the best source for the energy, encouragement, tools and capital that many entrepreneurs need to succeed.
So, why can’t anyone just invest a few hundred dollars in a small business they love? We’ve heard countless stories from entrepreneurs and small business owners who have tried gathering investments (real investments, not just donations) from friends, family, and other members of their community, but have struggled along the way. Unfortunately, the process is unnecessarily difficult. It can be confusing, costly, and complicated.
ProFounder will change this. We’re making it easy for your community to contribute financially to your business, so they’re literally invested in your success.
ProFounder, the blog. 
How do I get started with profounder? My focus and goals for my company is to create a store front and within the store will be a study hall (quite room), project room filled with donations, a small library, snack area,conference area for kids and adults to debate and share ideas for up coming events, this will be done on a membership bases ranging in three categories (Student, administration, Principal). My long term future goals are to extend my service and start a nursery for teen mothers so, that they could continue their education and a scholarship fund for underprivileged kids to continue their studies at a university, college, trade school or etc.

I had an opportunity to listen to your remarks at the Federal Reserve’s Exploring Innovation Conference in St. Louis. I am very involved with start ups in Montana and would be interested in where you found your statistic supporting that (83% or 87%) of all start ups begin with funds from their friends or relatives. We are developing program in Montana to serve this population, and this information is important from a policy perspective.
